How To Make The Most Of Your Fondue Pot
During the seventies and eighties, it was a real household trend if you had a fondue pot in your house. There were numerous products available on the market and a host of different shapes and sizes to choose from. People started having fondue parties almost every week and it was always exciting to see what new things you would be dipping.
For those of us who weren’t around during those years, it is clear that this could come across as something quite strange. It is worth explaining what a fondue pot is therefore and what it is used for.
This item is only one of what is called a fondue set, and the rest of the set is made up of fondue sticks which have a pointed end so that you can pierce food. They are used to dip the food into the sauce of choice. The pot sits on top of a little burner and this is where you would put whatever you are cooking – such as a chocolate sauce if you are doing a fondue dessert or a gravy for a main course.
The great thing about eating in this way is that it’s very social and there is a lot of interaction between your different guests. It is also quite a novelty because people have come up with the most incredible recipes that you can think of and you would be amazed.
One of the most popular though remains strawberries dipped in a warm chocolate sauce for dessert. This is very easy to make and still manages to satisfy the hungry every time. Then of course you could also take swiss rolls, all kinds of fruit and various other delicacies that would go well with a good chocolate dipping.
The possibilities are endless and one should really consider getting a fondue pot as something quite different. It is important to remember that the eighties fashion seems to be in trend again, so it would follow that the same is true for the food as well.
